Position Summary

The Assistant Superintendent will work closely with the Superintendent and agronomy leadership team to help oversee daily golf course maintenance operations, staff development, and long-term turf health initiatives across a high-volume private club environment.

This role offers hands-on leadership experience, exposure to advanced agronomic programs, and a clear path for professional growth within Heritage Golf Group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in daily planning and execution of course maintenance operations

  • Lead, train, and motivate maintenance staff

  • Participate in chemical and fertilizer applications and recordkeeping

  • Monitor turf conditions and assist with agronomic decision-making

  • Support irrigation system operation, repair, and troubleshooting

  • Assist with tournament preparation and course setup

  • Ensure safety compliance and best management practices

Educational Requirements

Degree or certificate in Turfgrass Management or related field preferred

Experience Requirements

  • 2–4+ years of golf course maintenance experience

  • Florida pesticide applicator license (or ability to obtain)

  • Strong leadership skills and desire to grow professionally

  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities

  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
