Course Description
Founded in 1968, Oak Hills Country Club is a private, 18-hole facility located in Omaha, Nebraska. The club is known for outstanding course conditions and a family-friendly atmosphere. Oak Hills maintains a full membership of approximately 400 golfing members and 325 social members, with nearly 28,000 rounds played annually.
The golf course features bentgrass greens, tees, and fairways, a Toro Lynx irrigation system, and a modern, well-maintained equipment fleet.
Position Summary
Oak Hills Country Club is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Golf Course Superintendent. This hands-on leadership position reports directly to the Director of Agronomy and the Golf Course Superintendent and offers an excellent opportunity for professional growth in a team-oriented environment that values both excellent conditions and work-life balance.
This position is open as the previous Assistant successfully advanced into a Golf Course Superintendent role. There is good opportunity for future advancement within Oak Hills for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
• Employee supervision, training, and scheduling
• Chemical and fertilizer applications
• Irrigation system operation, troubleshooting, and repair
• Daily course setup and quality control
• Hand watering and moisture management
Educational Requirements
Education & Experience
• Previous golf course maintenance experience as an Assistant Superintendent or intern preferred
• Bachelor’s or Associate degree preferred (turfgrass certificate considered)
• Knowledge and a passion for the game of golf
• Nebraska Pesticide Applicator License or ability to obtain within 90 days
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
