Turfgrass Internship – McArthur Golf Club

Compensation: $18/hour + overtime

McArthur Golf Club in Hobe Sound, Florida is seeking a motivated Turfgrass Intern to join our agronomy team for a unique, hands-on learning opportunity. This position is designed to be as much an educational experience as it is a working one, ideal for students or recent graduates pursuing a career in turfgrass management.

Internship Overview

Interns will play an active role in a major renovation project of the club’s “Frontyard,” while also gaining exposure to high-level summer maintenance practices on the “Backyard.” The renovation will be led by the club’s original architects, Tom Fazio and Nick Price, offering an exceptional opportunity to learn from a world-class design team.

Key Responsibilities & Learning Opportunities

Frontyard Renovation Project:

• Re-grassing of all turfgrass areas including:
  • Greens, tees, fairways, approaches, & rough
• Complete renovation of all bunkers
• Installation of a new Rain Bird Cirrus Pro irrigation system
• Transformation of all on-course comfort stations

Backyard / Summer Cultural Practices:

• Verti-cutting, topdressing, and aerifying
• Dry-Ject applications
• General high-end golf course maintenance practices
