A golf course groundskeeper maintains the course's landscape by operating mowers, trimmers, and other equipment for mowing greens, fairways, and roughs; performs tasks like aeration, seeding, bunker raking, and irrigation system upkeep; sets up the course daily (cutting cups, moving tee markers); handles debris removal; performs minor repairs; and follows safety protocols, often under supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Turf Maintenance: Mowing greens, tees, fairways, and roughs; hand-watering; aeration; seeding; sodding;
- Course Setup: Cutting cups, moving tee markers, changing hole locations, filling divots, maintaining ball washers and water coolers.
- Bunker Maintenance: Raking, edging, and maintaining sand traps.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operating walk/ride mowers, tractors, utility vehicles, string trimmers, blowers, chainsaws, and other grounds equipment.
- Equipment Care: Cleaning, fueling, and performing basic preventive maintenance (oil, filters, lubrication) on equipment.
- Landscaping: Trimming trees and shrubs, edging paths, planting flowers, removing debris, and performing general landscaping.
- Irrigation: Assisting with repair and maintenance of sprinkler systems.
- General Tasks: Trash removal, leaf removal and other seasonal tasks
Experience Requirements
Skills & Requirements:
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills for identifying issues.
- Physical stamina to lift and move heavy objects.
- Knowledge of basic horticulture/landscaping.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and instructions.
- Prior Golf Course experience strongly encouraged
