Job Summary
Meadows Farm Golf Course and Somerset Farms Golf Course are seeking a motivated and career-oriented Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to assist with the daily maintenance and agronomic operations of two public golf facilities. The Assistant Superintendent will work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent to provide consistent playing conditions, supervise staff, and support long-term turf management goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist with planning, scheduling, and supervising daily maintenance activities
Supervise, train, and motivate maintenance staff
Assist with irrigation system operation, troubleshooting, and repair
Apply fertilizers and pesticides in accordance with regulations and label requirements
Monitor turf health and assist with agronomic decision-making
Maintain accurate records related to chemical applications, labor, and inventory
Assist with course setup and presentation for daily play and tournaments
Act as Superintendent-in-Charge when necessary
Experience Requirements
Associate’s degree or certificate in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, or related field (or equivalent experience)
2–4 years of golf course maintenance experience; supervisory experience preferred
Knowledge of turfgrass species and maintenance practices common to the Mid-Atlantic region
State chemical applicator’s license preferred (or ability to obtain within required timeframe)
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays
Job Benefits
- Salary: $60,000 – $65,000, commensurate with experience
