Blue Heron Golf Course is owned and operated by Queen Anne’s County located in Stevensville. MD. Blue Heron is an 18 Hole Par 63 Course, front nine opened in 1959 and the back nine opened in 2002. Bentgrass greens, Bermuda/Rye tees and fairways. The maintenance of the Golf Course is managed by Growing Solutions, LLC and candidate would be an employee of Growing Solutions, LLC.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for Golf Course Maintenance & Agronomic operations 
• Supervise & Participate in the mowing, watering and maintenance of tees, greens, fairways, and related areas
• Possess thorough knowledge of the characteristics and proper use of various fertilizers and soil conditioners, herbicides and pest control methods and materials
• Possess the ability to maintain tees, fairways, and greens to an acceptable standard of golf course play
• Possess a participating knowledge of the game of golf
• Order supplies and materials within budgetary limitations

Educational Requirements

• Minimum: High School or equivalent
• Preferred: Post-High school education in Turf Management

Experience Requirements

·        Currently working within the industry in either superintendent or assistant role. Excellent opportunity for an assistant superintendent to advance to a head superintendent.

Special Requirements

• Maryland Pesticide License
• Maryland Nutrient Management License
