Assistant Superintendent

Oak Hills Park Golf Course, a public 18-hole course located in Norwalk, CT is looking for an assistant superintendent to help lead our grounds crew. Designed by Alfred Tull and opened in 1969, we recently underwent a bunker renovation to address some poor sand quality/conditions. Currently we are formulating an in house master plan to address drainage, cart path upgrades and irrigation system update, among other playability improvements.  Our greens are poa/bent mix, and tees and fairways are a variety of grasses typical to the northeast. Oak Hills hosts 49,000 rounds per year and plan to upgrade many aspects of our overall operations. 

Duties will consist of overseeing and performing course set up, operation of Toro Lynx with VP satellites, calibration and use of spreaders and spray equipment, ability to trouble shoot and repair irrigation issues, afternoon watering, safe operation of equipment, training of crew members and assignment of tasks as needed, and ensuring course is presented properly daily. When dealing with customers, a professional demeanor is required. Must have a positive, can-do attitude.

Educational Requirements

Minimum 2-year turf certificate or degree in related field

It is a requirement the successful candidate attain CT pesticide applicators license within 90 days of employment.

Experience Requirements

Two years on course experience required.
