Spray/Applications Technician

Full-time

In this role, you will be responsible for chemical spray operations and turf health management across four golf courses managed by Albatross LLC:

  • Black Squirrel Golf Club
  • Bent Oak Golf Club
  • Raber Golf Club
  • Four Lakes Golf Club

Plan, schedule, and execute all chemical spray applications (fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides, insecticides) in accordance with agronomic programs and safety regulations.

Monitor turf health, disease pressure, pest activity, and nutrient levels at all four golf courses.

Adjust chemical programs as needed based on weather conditions, turf performance, and seasonal demands.

Maintain accurate records of chemical usage, application rates, and schedules for each course.

Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding chemical handling and application.

Coordinate spray schedules with golf course operations to minimize disruption to play.

If you are unable to spray a course based on its weekly schedule, you will be responsible for ensuring a qualified team member is assigned to complete the application.

On a week-to-week basis, standard duties will include:

Inspecting turf conditions and identifying potential issues before they escalate.

Calibrating and maintaining spray equipment.

Communicating regularly with Albatross LLC management and course staff regarding turf conditions and upcoming treatments.

Ordering, storing, and managing chemical inventory safely and efficiently.

Staying current on best practices in turf management and chemical application.

In addition to chemical spray duties, you will be responsible for:

Repairing, maintaining, and troubleshooting sprinkler and irrigation systems at Black Squirrel Golf Club, Bent Oak Golf Club, and Raber Golf Club.

Coordinating any necessary repairs or maintenance related to irrigation efficiency and turf health.

Please note: irrigation system maintenance will not be required at Four Lakes Golf Club.

Educational Requirements

2- or 4-year turf degree or certificate preferred but not required

Current Indiana Pesticide License or ability to obtain one within 30 days.

Experience Requirements

5 years experience working in golf course maintenance with spray experience.
