The Greens Country Club is looking for an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent. Located on the North West side of Oklahoma City, The Greens Country Club is a traditional style golf course with Champion G12 Ultra-dwarf Bermuda greens which provide the best putting surface year-round in Oklahoma. We have a newly expanded driving range with Trackman and an expansive short game facility that helps offer a great golf experience. Currently we working towards installing a new irrigation system in house. This is a multi year project, which will consist of all new satellites, two wire, new laterals, and new irrigation heads. This is a great opportunity to get hands on experience and help manage this project. The Assistant Superintendent reports directly to the Dir. of Agronomy / Superintendent and is responsible for assisting the Dir. of Agronomy / Superintendent in supervising crew, dispersing daily crew work assignments, and participating in the maintenance of the golf course. This position requires advanced knowledge of turfgrass management expertise, obtained through formal education (2 or 4 year turf grass degree) and work experience. Under the supervision of the Dir. of Agronomy / Superintendent, the Assistant Superintendent directs and participates in the maintenance of golf course greens, tees, fairways and cart paths; supervises the maintenance, operation and repair of motorized golf course equipment, and related work as required. The Assistant Superintendent may serve in the Superintendents capacity during his/her absence. Typical Functions
Standards - Working knowledge of the maintenance of golf course greens, tees, fairways; the seeding and maintenance practices of golf course turf; the planting, cultivation and pruning of plants, shrubs and trees; the characteristics and proper use of various fertilizers and soil conditioners; herbicides and pest control methods and materials; drainage control methods; and irrigation system, including wells, pumps and automatic controls. - Ability to schedule and supervise maintenance work to achieve the most effective utilization of workers and equipment; to prepare clear and concise reports; to maintain effective employee and member relations. |
