Assistant Superintendent

The Milbrook Club is seeking an individual that is looking to enhance and hone their skills as a leader, communicator and turfgrass agronomist. An individual seeking to branch out for the opportunity of a lead role. The opportunity to apply skills and knowledge previously garnered to everyday responsibilities and decision-making situations. Alternatively, an individual that brings experience and ideas to improve the operation and efficiency. One who is willing to collaborate with a veteran team to better enhance the golf course and member experience. The individual will participant in the continuing work of the Golf Course Master Plan developed with Architect A. John Harvey. The assistant will be responsible to help manage Milbrooks’ recent upgrades including a $1M practice facility to be opened in spring 2026, four additional new USGA greens, Better Billy Bunkers, drainage and pumping systems installed with Turf Drainage of American as well as other club amenities. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, brings a positive attitude, strong work ethic, excellent communicator and works alongside the Superintendent and existing team members throughout all facets of the course.

The Milbrook Club is a full service, private club located in Greenwich, Connecticut. The club is located within the gated community known as Milbrook and sits on 70+ acres. The club’s amenities include tennis, paddle tennis, pickle ball, aquatics, multiple dining options from formal to poolside services and an executive 9-hole golf course built in 1923.
As the Milbrook Club begins to write a new chapter after recently celebrating its centennial year, it continues to improve the member experience campus wide. A brand new tennis shop and golf simulator facility was welcomed with tremendous success. The golf course is about to open a completely revamped practice area now with two greens and triple the practice area. Additionally, the golf course has collaborated with course Architect A. John Harvey over the past five years to complete four USGA spec greens, numerous upgrades to additional greens, tees, bunkers and the drainage network. As improvements continue to advance, The Milbrook Club is unwavering in its focus to provide family and friends an experience that all can enjoy for another 100 years of memories.

Educational Requirements

2 or 4 year Turfgrass Management degree, certificate in agronomy or completion of relevant field program.

Experience Requirements

2-3 years’ experience on a golf course/in the green industry required or student about to complete their degree/certificate program.

Special Requirements

Individual, who is self-motivated, has a strong work ethic, good eye for detail and strives to continually educate oneself. Individual must have CT State Pesticide License or ability to obtain license upon hire.
