Assistant Golf Course Superintendent

The City of McCall is seeking an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to support daily operations and maintenance of our municipal golf course. This position works closely with the Superintendent to oversee turf health, irrigation systems, and maintenance staff while ensuring high-quality playing conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with turf management, including fertilization, pesticide applications, and cultural practices 
• Supervise and train seasonal crew 
• Support irrigation system operation, repair, and installation 
• Assist with equipment maintenance and reel sharpening programs 
• Monitor course conditions and help implement improvement projects 
• Maintain records related to chemical applications, maintenance, and operations 

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of golf course maintenance experience 
• Pesticide Applicator License required 
• Knowledge of turfgrass management, irrigation systems, and golf course equipment 
• Strong leadership and communication skills 
• Valid driver’s license 

Preferred

• Formal training or certification in turf or golf course management

Compensation and Benefits:

The compensation range for this opportunity is $26.94 to $38.54 per hour with a midpoint of $31.33; actual starting wage will be dependent upon the qualifications and experience of the selected applicant.  The City of McCall offers a comprehensive benefit package including medical, dental and vision plans, wellness incentives, PERSI Retirement Plan, voluntary deferred compensation plans, life insurance, paid holidays, vacation, and sick leave.
