Currently 24 years old and have been in the golf course industry for a little over three years, started out doing basic turf maintenance and have since then learned to operate just about everything that goes out onto the course, from rough mowing to aerating and top dressing I help out with just about everything. I also assist in irrigation repairs when needed. In 2023 I stayed over the winter to help the mechanic conduct the winter maintenance and since then I've been helping off and on during the summer when course work is slow essentially taking on an unofficial assistant mechanic/greenskeeper role. I'm still learning in the mechanical area but have done reel grinding and bed knife grinding and unit reassembly on my own at this point and get increasingly confident each time I get a chance to work on the machines. I enjoy more of the mechanical aspect and would pursue a career in that area if the opportunity presents itself.
