Equipment/Shop Manager


Martis Camp Club is a private residential community located in the north Lake Tahoe area. The Tom Fazio designed golf course has Penn A4 bentgrass putting surfaces, Dominant Plus bentgrass tees, and Kentucky bluegrass fairways and rough. The golf maintenance department manages all club amenity landscaped areas as well as community property. We strive to employ individuals who take pride in their work and aim to reach their greatest potential while preserving the values and unique culture of Martis Camp.

Martis Camp is a year round club with a seasonal golf offering to the membership. We maintain cross country ski trails, snowshoeing routes, and a sledding hill in the winter months including snow removal at club facilities. Our department is based out of a state of the art modern maintenance facility with new leased equipment. Our next fleet turnover of the mowing equipment is scheduled to arrive in spring of 2021. In 2023 we will be hosting the US Senior Amateur Championship. 

Educational Requirements

High School diploma with further education and training preferred

Experience Requirements

Minimum of 3 years prior experience as Equipment Manager at a reputable golf facility

Special Requirements

Martis Camp is seeking self motivated candidates to fill the role of Equipment Manager. This individual will work under the supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent and the Director of Greens & Grounds / Community Association General Manager. Applicants should possess the following skills and attributes:

 

• Outstanding work ethic with pride in maintaining a clean and safe work environment

• Positive attitude and respectful of others

• Self motivated individual with a team player mentality

• The ability and demeanor to effectively communicate with management, personnel, vendors, and staff from other departments within the club

• Knowledge of gas and diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical diagnosis, welding and fabrication, mower grinding and set up, preventative maintenance programs, pumps and dynamics of spray equipment

• Organizational skills to appropriately manage a budget, maintain inventory, track service records, order parts, code invoices, and perform equipment safety training

• Willingness to embrace a demanding seasonal work schedule that includes weekend hours

• Computer and software competency

• Physical ability to perform the necessary job tasks including proper lifting of heavy objects

• Ability to maintain a Pisten Bulley snow groomer, snowmobiles, and snow removal equipment

• Toro MyTurf software program management 

• Company and department vehicle maintenance 

• Valid US drivers license

• Spanish speaking a plus
