Equipment/Shop Manager

 Ptarmigan Country Club is a Jack Nicklaus design private golf course located in Northern Colorado close to Fort Collins.  We are looking for quality individual to keep our equipment fleet in top operating condition at all times in the most efficient manner possible.  The following are the job responsibilities. 

 

  • Design and implement of a preventative maintenance for all equipment and keeping on schedule
  • Repairs on all equipment and vehicles not operating as designed.
  • Proper sharpening and adjustments to all mowing equipment to ensure the best cut possible.
  • The ordering, stocking and inventory of all parts and accessories.
  • Accurate and timely record keeping for all equipment. 
  • Off season grinding, rebuilding and repairing of equipment to be prepared for the next season.
  • Training employees in the proper operation, maintenance and safe operation of equipment. This will happen in conjunction with other training staff.
  • Reporting equipment abuse to the Golf Course Superintendent or Assistants who will take appropriate actions.
  • Work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent and Assistants on current equipment condition to establish repair and replacement needs for budgeting purposes.
  • Fill in as needed to preform maintenance or mowing tasks on the golf course during periods of short staff. 
  • Assist in winter snow removal. 

Educational Requirements

·         High School or GED

·         Attendance in ongoing educational classes through local and national organizations. 

Experience Requirements

·         2 years experience in turf equipment maintenance preferred.

·         Previous experience in general golf course maintenance helpful

Special Requirements

·         Valid driver’s license

·         Physical strength and agility to perform the above job duties. 50lb minimum lifting requirement.

·         Basic computer literacy

·         Good management, communication and judgement skill
