Golf Course Superintendent
Harlan Golf and Country Club, a semi-private, 9-hole golf course is seeking an exceptional candidate for our Course Superintendent. Just ten miles off Interstate 80, HGCC is located in Southwest Iowa, situated between Des Moines and the Omaha/Council Bluffs metro area. Our course has existed for over a century and boasts scenic, tree-lined fairways. The course provides a challenge to serious golfers while remaining fun for golfers of all skill levels.
Primary Duties:
· Daily maintenance of greens, tees, fairways and roughs.
· Maintains all grounds and course maintenance equipment.
· Maintains irrigation system.
· Manages the agronomy and chemical applications while maintaining accurate record keeping.
· Works independently and should be an effective problem solver.
· Hires and supervises part-time course staff.
· Orders supplies and materials within budgetary limitations.
· Coordinates with General Manager to assist with tournaments and/or special course events.
· Completes duties efficiently while working around member, guest and tournament play.
· Attends monthly board meetings to provide course updates.
Educational Requirements
· Degree, certificate or prior experience in turf management or related field preferred but not required.
Experience Requirements
· Experience in general maintenance with an emphasis on maintenance of lawn equipment.
· Possession of or ability to obtain pesticide applicators license within one year of employment.
Job Benefits
· Salary range $40,000.00+/year, negotiable
· HGCC offers an attractive compensation package that is negotiable based on experience. Our compensation package includes the option for housing to be provided rent free.
