2nd Assistant Superintendent
The second assistant position at Elyria Country Club is open to any qualified candidate starting March 1st through May of 2024. Recent turf school graduates or those graduating by May of 2024 are encouraged to apply. Elyria Country Club is a private 18 hole facility designed by William Flynn in 1925. Elyria Country Club maintains 175 acres, including 25 acres of Fairway, 3 acres of Tees, and 3 arces of Greens. The Greens, Tees, and Fairways are a Bent/Poa mix with approximately 16,000 rounds per year. The 2nd Assistant will be working with the Superintendent/1st Assistant in planning and supervising the maintenance of the golf course and clubhouse grounds. This will include but not limited to, irrigation operation and maintenance, crew supervision, drainage maintenance and installation, pesticide application, and record keeping. We have a few projects and improvements upcoming, including: New building construction starting April 2024, Master Plan 2024, and Drainage and irrigation 2025-26.
Educational Requirements
Two year degree/certificate or Four year degree in Turf Management or related field
Experience Requirements
Minimum of 2 years experience in turf/golf course management
Special Requirements
State of Ohio pesticide license or the ability to obtain one
