The Crossings Golf Club is located in Glen Allen, Va., just 15 minutes from downtown Richmond, it is an 18 hole semi-private facility designed by Joe Lee. Greens are Luminary bentgrass and tees and fairways are bermudagrass with some Meyer zoysia on back tees and bunker faces. Andrew Green completed the master plan for renovation and improvements and the work is almost completed. The irrigation pump stations were upgraded in 2017 and a new Rainbird IC system and Stratus LT central was complete in spring of 2019.
Job Overview:
Responsible for golf course and club house surrounds maintenance. The responsibilities include: turf grass maintenance programs, property/asset management, personnel management, budget forecasting, financial management, member relations, scheduling of irrigation system, pesticide applications, regulatory requirements and record keeping in a supervisory and or participating role. The Golf Course Superintendent works to create an environment where staff is involved and enthusiastic, with open communications and respect for themselves, members, guests and the property. The course superintendent reports directly to owner and must have frequent and open communications with general manager.
Educational Requirements
· 2-4-year degree in Turfgrass Management or related field -or- 5 plus years of management in related field
Experience Requirements
- 2-4 years supervisory experience on a golf course or 6-8 years as an assistant
- Ability to obtain necessary pesticide license within 3 months of hiring
- Knowledge of the game of golf & rules that apply
- Knowledge of turf equipment and irrigation maintenance & repair
Job Benefits
Compensation Package:
· $70,000-$90,000 per year salary
· 1 week PTO
· VGCSA membership and continuing education travel
