2nd Assistant Superintendent
Suneagles Golf Club, A private golf club, was opened in 1926 is a historic design by A.W. Tillinghast located on the Jersey Shore approximately 35 miles from NYC. At this time Suneagles Golf Club is looking for a highly motivated, hard worker to fill it's 2nd Assistant position. The 2nd Assistant will work closely with the Assistant and Golf Course Superintendent to ensure championship conditions on a daily basis, as well as, creating an unique friendly environment for our members. Suneagles is currently in the beginning stages of a golf course renovation as well as installing a new HDPE 2 wire irrigation system, in house. This is a great opportunity for an individual who would like to gain valuable experience in golf course construction, golf course maintenance as well as irrigation installation.
Educational Requirements
2-to-4-year certificate/degree preferred in turf management or equivalent years of experience in private club setting.
Experience Requirements
- Individual must have specialized knowledge and experience in growing and maintaining golf course greens, fairways, and tees.
- Must possess basic computer skills and the ability to work with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
- Requires exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be highly organized and efficient, with high attention to detail.
- Individual should possess a New Jersey Commercial Applicator License or can obtain within 60 days of employment.
- Prepares weekly schedules with Superintendent.
- Individual will lead crew with special projects throughout property.
- Supervises and trains staff in the Turf Maintenance Department.
- Calibrates and operates pesticide sprayers, and fertilizer spreaders.
- Works closely with 1st Assistant in budget and maintenance record keeping.
- Individual must have specialized knowledge of irrigation systems and irrigation practices
