Equipment/Shop Manager

             Bonnie Briar Country Club is a private 18-hole golf course located 30 minutes north of NYC in Westchester County. Established in 1921, the 150 acre facility was originally designed by Devereux Emmet. In addition to the golf course, Bonnie Briar includes 2 short game practice facilities, driving range, pool, 4 Har-Tru and 2 red clay tennis courts. The par 71, 6,385 yard courses primary playing surfaces are predominantly Poa annua and Bentgrass. The club and its members continue to be highly committed to elevating the golfing experience which is evident in past and planned course renovations.       Overview: This is a management position which will oversee repairs on all maintenance equipment with the help of the current assistant mechanic. You will be responsible for implementing a preventive maintenance program which includes the diagnostics and repair of failing equipment, keeping records of parts and labor needed to maintain each piece of equipment, and placing orders for parts and supplies needed for equipment or service. The equipment manager properly communicates any needs or problems relating to the maintenance or repair of equipment to the superintendent and/or the assistant superintendent. The equipment manager places safety as a top priority and is responsible for maintaining a clean service area and maintenance building.

 

Educational Requirements

 High School Diploma or equivalent 

Experience Requirements

·        Equipment Maintenance: Repair, service and maintain all golf course equipment including

Mowers, tractors, utility carts and other specialized machinery.

·        Preventive Care: Ensure all equipment is set up and prepared to accomplish daily tasks, ability to maintain and prioritize with a preventative maintenance program.

·        Repairs and Diagnostics: Expertly diagnose mechanical issues, conduct repairs, and perform adjustment when needed, also need to be proficient in interpreting repair manuals, instruction, sheets, hydraulic and electrical schematics.

·        Basic Fabrication: Ability to do minor fabrication an, think out of the box for solutions and supplies.

·        Budget and Inventory management: Manage and establish a budget, demonstrate cost-conscious    decision making  

·        Equipment operation and safety compliance: Work with our management staff to train employees in safe operation of equipment and current safety standards. ·     

·        Basic computer skills: record keeping, basic ability to use Excel and Word to ensure accurate diagnostics and proper maintenance

·        Vendor Relationships: Establish and nurture good relationships with suppliers and service providers, parts procurement, and warranty work.

·        Communication: Effective oral and written communication skills in English preferred.

·        4-5 years as an Equipment Manager: but will consider Assistant Equipment Managers with willingness to learn.

·         Standard work week: 40-50 hours a week depending time of year. Will be required to work weekends and holidays              as needed

·         Equipment:  Toro, Ventrac, John Deere, and Jacobson.

·        Knowledge: In the operation of foley grinders
