2nd Assistant Superintendent
Glendale Country Club is looking for a Second Assistant Superintendent to join our turf team. GCC is located in Bellevue, WA, seven miles east of Seattle. We are seeking a motivated individual with a willingness to learn and advance in the golf course industry. The club was built in 1959 on 140 acres, 18 holes with driving range and practice areas. GCC has been host of the WA Open 13 times since 1975. Toro irrigation system installed in 1993 with many updates. Lynx control system and Flowtronix pump station. New irrigation system designed by Brent Harvey and planned for installation spring of 2026. 2nd assistant works closely with our assistant superintendent (Josh Cheney-21 years at Glendale) and our superintendent ( me! Steve Kealy-37 years at Glendale) to perform all daily maintenance tasks. Most of our staff has been with us for 10+ years. Besides daily maintenance, candidate will learn all aspects of spraying and calibration, posting of articles on our turf blog, payroll, budgeting, crew management, irrigation system management and operation of all equipmnt. We have a well maintained fleet of newer Toro equipment.
Educational Requirements
Applicant must have a two or 4 year degree/certificate in turf management or closely related field.
Experience Requirements
1-2 seasons of golf course turf management experience required.
Special Requirements
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Current drivers license.
Ability to obtain a WA Pesticide Applicators License within one year of employment.
