Equipment/Shop Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as the Head Mechanic - Equipment Maintenance for Breakers West Golf Course. As the Head Mechanic, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and well-being of all equipment owned by The Breakers. This includes a range of machinery, from grinding and small engines to hydraulics and diesel engines. Your role will involve conducting regular inspections, identifying issues, and implementing efficient maintenance and repair strategies to ensure the longevity and optimal performance of our equipment.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functionality and identify any potential issues
- Perform repairs, maintenance, and troubleshooting on various types of machinery, including grinding equipment, hydraulics, electrical systems, small engines, and diesel engines
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and increase equipment reliability
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including repair logs and equipment maintenance schedules
- Stay up to date with industry advancements and technologies related to equipment maintenance
- Order and inventory parts to ensure availability for repairs and maintenance
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members and vendors to ensure timely repairs and minimal equipment downtime

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or technical training in equipment maintenance preferred
- Proven experience as a mechanic specializing in equipment maintenance, with a strong understanding of various types of machinery and systems
- In-depth knowledge of grinding equipment, hydraulics, electrical systems, small engines, and diesel engines
- Proficient in diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment issues
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and team motivation skills
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment
