Golf Course Superintendent
Wyckoff Country Club is a Semi-Private Club located in Holyoke, Ma.
This is a full time, year-round salaried position. The Golf Course Superintendent works to create an environment where the staff is involved and enthusiastic, has open communications and respect for themselves, members, guests, and the property. This position reports directly to the Owners
The chosen candidate would be responsible for all phases of golf course maintenance and agronomic operations, including but not limited to:
- Employee Training/ Development/ Scheduling
- Turfgrass/plant material maintenance programs and pesticide applications
- Irrigation repair
-Personnel management
-Budgeting and financial management
-Equipment Oversight to ensure all equipment operates properly, and also ensures staff operates all equipment in a safe manner
-Compliance with Regulatory and permit requirements
-Maintains open and regular communication with the Golf Pro and Owners.
- On occasion the Superintendent will perform general golf course maintenance duties as needed. The successful candidate will be a positive leader, motivator, and will act as a mentor to our team.
Educational Requirements
- Associate degree or higher in turf management, or related field preferred. A certificate from an accredited program and 3 years of work experience, or a similar combination is also acceptable.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of golf course maintenance experience in a leadership role to include golf, turf fertilizations, calibration and pest control, as well as irrigation oversight.
- Strong leadership, team-building, and interpersonal skills.
Special Requirements
Massachusetts Pesticide License required or ability to obtain shortly after hiring.
