Marcella is honored to partner with 82- time PGA tour winner, Tiger Woods, and his golf course design firm, TGR Design, for their first mountain course design. We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated 2nd Assistant to play a pivotal role in maintaining and ensuring the seamless operation of our golf course.

Job Description:

As the Golf Course Second Assistant, you will play a crucial role in the establishment and maintenance of our new golf course. This position will primarily focus on Grow in Greenkeeper tasks, ensuring the optimal development of the turf and landscape. Additionally, you will be involved in various Golf Course construction tasks to contribute to the overall success of the project.

Key Responsibilities:

• Grow in Greenkeeper Tasks:

  • Implement and execute turf management practices to establish and maintain high-quality playing surfaces.

  • Monitor soil conditions, irrigation systems, and pest control programs to ensure optimal turf health.

  • Collaborate with the Head Greenkeeper to develop and implement an effective fertilization program.

  • Conduct routine assessments of the course's turf and provide recommendations for improvements.

• Golf Course Construction Tasks:

  • Assist in the construction and renovation of golf course features, including tees, bunkers, and greens.

  • Operate and maintain construction equipment, ensuring safe and efficient use.

  • Collaborate with the construction team to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.

  • Participate in the planning and execution of landscaping projects to enhance the course's aesthetic appeal.

• Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the Head Greenkeeper and other team members to achieve the highest standards of course maintenance and playability.

  • Provide guidance and support to the maintenance crew, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in golf course maintenance, with a focus on Grow in Greenkeeper tasks.

• Knowledge of turf grass management, irrigation systems, and pest control practices.

• Experience in golf course construction and familiarity with related equipment.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

• Relevant certifications or education in turf management or related field is a plus.
