We are seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Golf Course Equipment Technician and Groundskeeper. The primary duty of this position will be preventative maintenance and repair of equipment, along with
the assisting of daily course maintenance tasks. In this position you will be working primarily out of the Heather Hill shop. You will also work closely with our Primary Mechanic at the Wentworth Hills Shop .
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks and repairs for equipment used in golf course maintenance.
- Duties will include back lapping, blade sharpening and reel grinding when necessary . Oil and grease maintenance on a regular schedule
- Assist with daily turf maintenance tasks, including mowing of greens, fairways, and roughs when work is slow.
- Operate and maintain small engines and turf equipment. We have both diesel and gas equipment. (Jacobson, TORO, Baroness, New Holland, John Deere)
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Collaborate with the grounds keeping team to ensure the overall aesthetic and playability of the golf course.
Educational Requirements
- High school Diploma or GED required
- Knowledge and ability to perform the job are more important than credentials.
Experience Requirements
- Turf technician experience is a plus but not required.
- Knowledge of small gas and diesel engines.
- Reel and rotary mower maintenance and repair.
Special Requirements
- Candidates must be able to maintain the discipline to stay on task without supervision.
- Ability to pass a background check
- Ability to lift heavy equipment components
