Golf Course Superintendent
The Golf Course Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of Dornick Hills Golf & Country Club and ensuring the integrity of its grounds. The successful candidate will develop and maintain a safe and high-quality environment for golfers, help set and manage a budget, provide guidance and direction to staff, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. The candidate will develop and maintain techniques and soil treatments used for the healthy growth of turf, shrubs, plants and other greenery, including the application of pesticides. Assists with developing procedures, materials, and safety standards and proper safety methods. Operates equipment and tools, including turf equipment, irrigation systems, and high pressure pumps. The candidate will also need to evaluate the golf course, work perfomance, maintain daily attendance records, and provide disciplinary actions for assigned staff as required.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Direct and manage operations, including maintenance and repair of greens, tees, fairways, and other elements of the course
- Oversee the development and implementation of a comprehensive maintenance and improvement plan for the golf course and its grounds
- Monitor and evaluate the condition of the course and identify areas of improvement
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and local, state, and federal laws and regulations
- Develop and manage a budget to ensure the efficient operation of the golf course
- Train and manage staff
- Evaluate and implement new technologies and techniques to improve the golf course and its operations
- Provide customer service to golfers and other guests
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in turf management, agronomy, or a related field or a combination of education and experience.
- Must possess Chemical Applicators License.
Experience Requirements
- Three to five years of experience in golf course management
- Advanced knowledge of golf course maintenance, turf management, and related regulations
- Able to manage a budget and staff
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team
- A strong business aptitude and passion for the golf business.
- Ability to develop and train your team.
