Course Description:

The Melrose Golf Club is an 18-hole, Jack Nicklaus designed golf course located on Daufuskie Island, South Carolina.  While in a redevelopment stage, we have implemented an organic maintenance program designed to create an upscale public golf course that works in harmony with nature, preserving the island's natural habitat and benefiting our surrounding community.

One of the key initiatives we are undertaking involves the incorporation of agroforestry principles across various sections of the course. This innovative approach integrates elements of farming within the golf course. These sections will produce components for consumption and materials necessary to sustain the course itself, all while operating in tandem with our commitment to environmental preservation.

Our aim is to reduce reliance on synthetic pesticides and fertilizers, promoting a healthier ecosystem that serves both human interests and the environment. We believe that this initiative will not only elevate the golfing experience but also foster a deeper connection between the community and our shared environment.
