2nd Assistant Superintendent

Oyster Harbors Club is seeking a highly motivated, team-oriented Assistant Superintendent to join our dynamic agronomy team. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven individual looking to grow within the turf management profession and contribute to maintaining a championship-level golf course.

The Assistant Superintendent will work closely with the Superintendent and fellow Assistants to develop a comprehensive understanding of golf course management, with a focus on leadership, communication, time management, and teamwork. This position offers strong mentorship and professional development aimed at preparing the candidate for a future role as a world-class Golf Course Superintendent.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute and supervise daily maintenance of the golf course and grounds
• Apply fertilizers and pesticides in accordance with IPM practices
• Conduct regular turf scouting and monitor course health
• Assist with course set-up and tournament preparation
• Perform and oversee irrigation repairs, adjustments, and installations
• Support long-term agronomic planning and sustainable course management initiatives
• Lead small crews and train team members in maintenance practices

Qualifications:

• 2- or 4-year degree or certificate in Turfgrass Management or a related field
• Previous golf course maintenance experience preferred
• Possession or ability to obtain a Massachusetts pesticide applicator's license
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a team-first mentality
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed
