Lawn Care Technician

Performs various unskilled and semiskilled tasks in the construction, operation, repair, maintenance of City maintained facilities & right of ways.

High school diploma or equivalent; possession of a valid state driver’s license (Class A CDL desired); any combination of education, training, and work experience which provides the required skill sets to perform the essential functions of the job.

Examples of Duties

• Participates in the construction, maintenance and repair of public service facilities, grounds, buildings, and right of ways
• Perform basic turfgrass and landscape maintenance.
• Maintains, operates, repairs and replaces power equipment as necessary.
• Performs litter and trash pickup.
• Removes snow and spreads deicing materials on snow & ice-covered streets and sidewalks.
• Ability to use hand tools for digging, grading, patching and otherwise maintaining improved and unimproved facilities and right of ways.
• Applies cold patch or hot mix asphalt by hand to pot holes and impacts; spreads gravel, stone, concrete, or other construction materials.
• Assists with hosting large sporting events or other special events.
• Performs general construction tasks
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
