Equipment/Shop Manager
Soleta Golf Club seeks to hire a highly qualified Equipment Manager. The position plans, directs, and oversees a comprehensive preventative maintenance program for the property. This program includes execution of repairs and maintenance to golf course equipment and compiling detailed recordkeeping that tracks parts and labor used during all services and repairs. The position requires placing orders for parts and supplies needed for all services and repairs. The Equipment Manager reports to the Director of Grounds and effectively communicates needs or problems relating to the equipment fleet in a timely manner. The position schedules, directs, trains, and oversees the work assignments for all other equipment technicians. The Equipment Manager places safety as a top priority and is responsible for maintaining a clean and organized service area and maintenance building.
Educational Requirements
- Minimum of one (1) year formal education in golf course equipment maintenance
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a golf course mechanic position
- Knowledge of tools, methods, and materials used in construction, renovation, and maintenance as related to golf course and landscaping sites
- Knowledge of safe mechanical operations of all other motorized equipment used in maintenance of golf course and landscaping sites
- Advanced skill in reel grinding and cutting unit set-up
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions independently
- Possession of a valid driver's license
- Working knowledge of light and heavy maintenance equipment
- Skill in the use of a variety of equipment repair tools, and making various types of mechanical repairs
- Working knowledge of the theory, care, and operation of internal combustion engines and mowing equipment
