Position: Assistant Equipment Manager
Location: Wykagyl Country Club – New Rochelle, NY
Salary: $70,000–$75,000 (Salaried, Commensurate with Experience)
Start Date: Immediate or Flexible for the Right Candidate
Wykagyl Country Club, a premier private club known for its championship course and elite conditioning, is seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Assistant Equipment Manager to join our Golf Course Maintenance team.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Equipment Manager in the daily maintenance, repair, and preventative care of a diverse fleet of golf course maintenance equipment, including Toro, John Deere, and Club Car.
  • Help coordinate and track equipment maintenance schedules, parts inventory, and service logs.
  • Diagnose and repair gas and diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and reel/rotary mowing units.
  • Support reel grinding and sharpening operations to maintain tournament-quality cutting standards.
  • Ensure shop cleanliness, safety standards, and organization are upheld.
  • Train and support staff in the proper operation and daily care of equipment.
Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in equipment repair, preferably in a golf course or turf-related setting.
  • Knowledge of reel and rotary mower maintenance and operation preferred but not required.
  • Strong understanding of small engine diagnostics, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and overtime as needed during the golf season.
  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Valid driver’s license required; NYS Pesticide License is a plus but not required.
