Grand Harbor Golf & Beach Club is hiring a full time Assistant Mechanic. In this role, the mechanic will make major and minor repairs on a variety of golf course maintenance equipment. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Perform mower grinding and sharpening. Perform body and fender work, fabrication, welding, troubleshooting and repairs to hydraulic and electrical systems. Lubricate and service equipment. Inspect equipment for operating issues and makes routine adjustments where necessary. Fill equipment with gas and oil, inspect and change tires. Body repair, painting and adjust the engines and cutting mechanisms on a variety of heavy and light mowing equipment, Dispose of various oils, chemicals, and other residues (antifreeze, oil filters, etc.) properly, following SDS guidelines. Perform body and fender work, fabrication, welding, troubleshooting and repairs to hydraulic and electrical systems. Repair transmissions, differentials, carburetors, distributors, fuel pumps, steering systems, starts, generators, universal joints, hydraulic systems, and high-pressure pumps and valves, installs and adjusts brakes. Maintain a clean, safe work environment and repair shop. Maintain an effective daily equipment inspection program. Organize and clean the inventory room. Set-up and modify new equipment as necessary. May perform other assignments and duties, as area needs require. Communicates with Manager of Equipment and Director of Agronomy any needs or problems relating to maintenance or repair of equipment. Perform other duties as assigned. Physical Demands: Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds regularly. Must be able to work in hot and humid conditions daily.
