Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Golf Course Mechanic to maintain, diagnose, and repair all turf maintenance equipment and vehicles used on the golf course. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and smooth operation of the course’s equipment fleet, contributing directly to the quality of the playing conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on a variety of golf course maintenance equipment (e.g., mowers, tractors, utility vehicles).
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, blade sharpening, tire replacement, and preventative servicing.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed.
• Keep equipment clean, safe, and in top operating condition.
• Order and manage parts inventory as needed.
• Assist in training staff on safe operation and daily maintenance of equipment.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Assist with seasonal preparations (e.g., winterizing equipment, transitioning for summer/fall operations).
• Communicate regularly with the superintendent and grounds team regarding equipment performance and needs.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational training preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical repair (golf course, agricultural, or automotive equipment preferred).
• Strong knowledge of small engine repair, diesel and gas engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Ability to read technical manuals and schematics.
• Welding and fabrication skills are a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work in various weather conditions.
Working Conditions:
• Work is performed both indoors (shop environment) and outdoors on the golf course.
• May require early morning, weekend, or holiday hours depending on operational needs.
