We're looking for someone with a professional turf background — ideally a current or former Assistant Superintendent — who’s ready to put their skills to work in a better environment. One with no weekends, no 60-hour workweeks, and no crew chaos.

I’m a former golf course superintendent who started Barefoot Lawn to build something better — for clients and employees. We focus on high-end lawn care using top-tier products and smart scheduling. No cookie-cutter programs, no low-bid spray-and-pray nonsense.

Educational Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Turfgrass Science, Agronomy, Horticulture, or a related field strongly preferred

  • Relevant certifications in pesticide application and turf management are a plus

  • High school diploma or equivalent required if accompanied by strong professional turf experience

Experience Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in professional turfgrass management, ideally as an Assistant Superintendent or in a similar role

  • Strong understanding of cool-season turf and its seasonal needs (fertilization, weed control, disease ID, etc.)

  • Hands-on experience with fertilizer and pesticide application equipment (ride-on spreader/sprayers preferred)

  • Familiarity with golf course-level standards for turf quality and detail-oriented maintenance

  • Ability to diagnose turf issues (weeds, disease, insects, compaction, etc.) and recommend corrective actions

  • PA Pesticide License (or willing to obtain)

  • Basic mechanical aptitude (calibrating equipment, minor maintenance tasks)

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Special Requirements

What We’re Looking For:

  • PA pesticide license (or willing to get it)

  • Strong knowledge of turfgrass management and lawn health

  • Someone who takes pride in their work and wants to be treated like a professional

  • Experience with spreader/sprayer equipment is a plus

  • Familiarity with golf course-quality expectations is huge
