Orinda Country Club, established in 1924, is a prestigious 18-hole private club ranked among California’s top 40 courses. Nestled in the scenic hills of the Bay Area, our club features a golden age walkable layout with no two holes alike and a strong family-oriented community that fosters a positive, healthy work environment.
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Equipment Manager to join our dedicated Golf Maintenance Team. The Equipment Manager is a vital team member, reporting directly to the Golf Course Superintendent and/or Assistant Superintendent, and is responsible for all aspects of equipment care and performance.
Primary Responsibilities

Implement and manage a full preventive maintenance program

Diagnose and repair gas, diesel, hydraulic, and electric equipment

Maintain cutting units daily (height setting, grinding, sharpening)

Track equipment maintenance and repair logs

Order parts and supplies, and track purchases

Train staff on proper equipment use and safety

Maintain a clean and safe maintenance facility

Assist in evaluating and onboarding new equipment
Required Experience & Skills
-
Graduate of a technical/vocational program in mechanics or small engine repair
-
4–6 years of experience as a mechanic (golf course experience preferred)

Strong knowledge of:

Gas and diesel engines
-
Small engines
-
Hydraulics
-
Electrical systems (basic diagnosis)

Welding

Ability to:

Set and maintain reel and rotary cutting units

Lift 50 lbs. or more regularly

Communicate positively and professionally
-
Work independently and solve problems creatively

Stay organized and meet deadlines
-
Train team members on equipment safety and operation

Special Requirements

Valid driver’s license
-
Strong work ethic, enthusiasm, and a team-first attitude

Comfortable working in various weather conditions and physically demanding environments (lifting, bending, stooping, climbing)
