Golf Course Superintendent
Founded in 1916, the Princess Anne Country Club is Virginia’s premier coastal private country club. Amenities include an 18-hole classic layout featuring 419 fairways, A4 greens, and newly renovated Zeon Zoysia tees. The course was originally designed by Willie Park, Jr., redesigned by Tim Liddy in 2008 and honored by Golf Magazine as one of the top 25 short courses under 6,000 yards in the world. Amenities include a recently renovated short game practice area slated to open this summer, a practice range, putting greens, golf course maintenance buildings, full-service clubhouse, four indoor and seven outdoor tennis courts, pickleball courts, fitness and wellness center; and new aquatic complex.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience as a golf course superintendent or assistant. He/she will have earned at least an Associate Degree in Turfgrass Management, possess sound leadership, teambuilding, interpersonal and communication skills, and a proven track record growing both bentgrass and bermudagrass in challenging climates.
The candidate will be efficient and organized, a proven team-builder capable of forging strong working relationships with our Team and deeply committed to the Club's operational mission of constant improvement. Equally critical are communication skills and a personable visible manner capable of building credible relationships with the membership and community.
The Director of Golf Course Maintenance and Club Grounds reports to the General Manager and is entrusted with the maintenance, operation and management of the golf course and all other Club grounds.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:

Responsible for the overall operation and management of the Princess Anne Country Cub golf course, practice facilities and Club grounds.

Recruits, trains and supervises golf course maintenance operations personnel.

In concert with the General Manager, develops capital and operational budgets for the golf course maintenance operation and, after approval, manages their implementation.

Works closely with the Green Committee Chair, serving as an ex-officio committee member, and attends all Green and Golf Committee meetings.

Develops an ongoing dialogue and presence with Club Members.

Works with, supports and consults with the PGA Professional Team.

Assists the General Manager in developing/implementing short- and long-term capital projects, operational standards and personnel documents.
Job Benefits
Compensation package will include an annual base salary $140,000 - $160,000 plus a discretionary bonus incentive. Benefits include individual health and life, 401(k), GCSAA dues, vehicle, phone, education allowance, vacation and relocation expense.
