Turf Equipment Technician

Country Club Tour Golf Group in Edmonton, Alberta, is seeking a reliable and skilled Golf Course Mechanic to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing golf course equipment, ensuring that the equipment is safe, reliable, and ready for daily use. This role involves working closely with the Superintendent to ensure minimal downtime and efficient equipment operation.

Educational Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

 

Wage is negotiable based on experience

Experience Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform regular maintenance and repairs on all golf course equipment, golf carts, including mowers, utility vehicles, and small engines.

  • Implement a preventive maintenance program to extend the life of the equipment and reduce unplanned downtime.

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on a variety of equipment.

  • Keep accurate service logs, repair records, and parts inventory.

  • Order necessary parts and supplies, ensuring inventory is maintained efficiently.

  • Ensure all equipment is compliant with safety standards and regulations.

  • Collaborate with the golf course maintenance team to schedule equipment repairs and maintenance around daily operations.

  • Train staff on proper use and safety procedures for equipment.

  • Maintain a clean and organized workshop to promote a safe working environment.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • 5+ years of experience in equipment maintenance and mechanical repair in a golf course or turf management setting.

  • Knowledge of small engine repair, hydraulics, and electrical systems.

  • Self-Starter

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

  • Familiarity with a variety of golf course maintenance equipment (golf carts, mowers, tractors, utility vehicles, etc.).

  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals and schematics.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Basic computer skills for inventory management and record-keeping.

  • Valid Alberta driver's license.


 


Special Requirements

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move equipment and tools weighing up to 50 lbs.

  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

  • Ability to stand, kneel, and bend for extended periods.
