Sports Turf Technician

Full-time

The Sports Field Technician will serve K-12, parks and rec, and private sports clients across Ohio.

All of our staff comes from golf course management and professional sports backgrounds and can help those looking to make the transition to our type of sports field management a seamless and positive one.

40-50 hours per week April through October is standard. Weekend work is limited to 6-8 weekend days per year.  We work smart and understand the value of your time to both maximize your earnings while making sure you have a life outside of work.

In addition to participating maintenance efforts on client properties, you will also have a pathway to continued growth within the company by learning about the planning and execution of sports field construction and renovation projects and how to develop and execute a proper Sports Field Management program. 

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Participating in the construction, renovation, and maintenance of sports fields and facilities
  • Provide outstanding support,  assistance, and services to our clients on a daily basis
  • Calibrate and perform all applications of pesticides and fertilizers
  • Ability to safely operate all types of equipment in turfgrass maintenance including, but not limited to, mower, tractor, aerifier, and sprayer
  • Perform regular preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Monitor irrigation and soil moisture levels and adjust accordingly
  • Maintain irrigation system and complete minor repairs
  • Safely transport equipment between locations
  • Communication with clients regarding the condition of the fields as well as any maintenance work that is scheduled
  • Other duties as assigned

Educational Requirements

Turfgrass Management or related degree preferred but not required

Experience Requirements

  • 2 years of experience in sports field or golf turf is required

Special Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, are required
  • Valid Driver's License and a clean driving record are required - CDL (or the ability to obtain) perferred and adds to total compensation for the position
