Equipment/Shop Manager

The Yogi Course is a new construction, located along the Cumberland Plateau just outside of McMinnville, TN.  We are currently seeking an Equipment Manager to join our leadership team.  This is a key position responsible for managing and maintaining the golf course equipment fleet, ensuring all machinery and tools operate efficiently to support excellent course and grounds conditioning.  The Equipment Manger plays a pivotal role in preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of all turf and facility equipment, while maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organized facility.  The maintenance facility is about to start construction to house a new Deere lease package.

Experience Requirements

Qualifications and skills:

Proven experience with small engine and turf equipment.

Knowledge of hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and proper reel maintenance.

Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.

Working knowledge of turf management practices is a plus.

Effective communication and organizational skills.

Valid drivers license.

Be able to work both indoors and outdoors as needed.

Must be able to lift 50 plus pounds and operate tools and machinery for extended periods.

Primary Responsibilities:

Equipment maintenance and repair - Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on a wide range of maintenance equipment including mowers, tractors, utility vehicles, sprayers, and small engines.

Perform both scheduled preventative maintenance and unscheduled repairs to minimize downtime.

Sharpen and maintain reel and rotary mower blades to insure optimal cutting quality.

Conduct repairs on handheld equipment such as string trimmers, edgers, blowers, and chainsaws.

Preventative Maintenance Program - Develop and implement a comprehensive preventative maintenance schedule for all fleet equipment.

Maintain accurate service logs, inspection records, and maintenance checklists for all machinery.

Order and manage inventory of replacement parts, oil and lubricants, and shop supplies.

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized maintenance shop and service area in compliance with OSHA and industry safety standards.

Maintain proper ventilation and fire preventative systems in the shop.

Assist with repairs and upkeep of the maintenance facility.

Support special projects such as infrastructure upgrades,

Track parts and equipment usage to support accurate budget forecasting.

Make recommendations for capital improvements or new equipment purchases based on condition assessments.

Handle and dispose of all hazardous materials in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
