Golf Course Superintendent

Riverside Golf Links, a public 27-hole golf facility in Nashville, TN, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Golf Course Superintendent to lead all aspects of golf course maintenance and agronomic operations. Our course features Bentgrass greens and is committed to delivering high-quality playing conditions for our diverse golfing community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, implement, and oversee all golf course maintenance practices, including mowing, irrigation, fertilization, aerification, pest and weed control.

  • Maintain and optimize the health and playability of Bentgrass greens, addressing the challenges of Nashville’s climate.

  • Supervise, train, and motivate the golf course maintenance team.

  • Develop and manage operating and capital budgets while maintaining cost efficiency.

  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of irrigation systems and golf course equipment.

  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and workplace safety standards.

  • Communicate professionally with management, staff, and golfers regarding course conditions, projects, and scheduling.

  • Maintain records for chemical applications, irrigation scheduling, and maintenance practices.

Qualifications:

  • An associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, Horticulture, or a related field is preferred.

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Golf Course Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent.

  • Active GCSAA membership preferred.

  • Proven experience maintaining Bentgrass greens under varied weather conditions.

  • Proficient in irrigation system operation, troubleshooting, and repair.

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Valid Tennessee Pesticide Applicator License or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe.

Educational Requirements

An associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, Horticulture, or a related field is preferred.

Experience Requirements

Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Golf Course Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent.
