Turf Equipment Technician

A world-renowned, and exclusive golf club in Georgia is seeking a passionate and diligent Equipment Services Technician to join their golf course maintenance team. The Equipment Services Technician supports the Agronomy and Horticulture Maintenance Departments by ensuring all equipment is maintained in top operational condition. This individual will be responsible for servicing, adjusting, sharpening, and repairing all grounds-related equipment, keeping it in a safe and ready-for-issue state.

INITIAL PRIORITIES OF POSITION:

• Conduct safety inspections of the Grounds Maintenance Facility
• Ensure all equipment is operational, safe, and ready for use
• Perform equipment sharpening and adjustments for immediate needs
• Establish documentation protocols for repairs and maintenance
• Familiarize with facility and equipment standards

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND APTITUDE:

• Maintain equipment in safe and ready configurations per department schedule
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair equipment systems, including hydraulics, transmissions, steering, brakes, and sprayers
• Perform grinding and sharpening of mower blades and reels
• Weld, fabricate, and modify auxiliary support gear
• Conduct daily facility safety inspections and initiate corrective action as needed
• Ensure environmental compliance in hazardous waste disposal
• Install parts including batteries, tires, wiring, and other components
• Document all repairs, maintenance, and supply usage accurately
• Provide operator training on safe and efficient equipment use
• Assist with repair of non-ground maintenance equipment when needed

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or completion of a Turf Equipment Service Technician program + 2 years’ experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license or successful completion of internal motor vehicle training
• Strong knowledge of small engine repair, mower adjustments, and electrical/hydraulic systems
• Proficient with computer-based maintenance tracking systems
• Ability to interpret manuals, schematics, and technical diagrams
• Welding and fabrication skills

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

• $35.00 - $36.00, per hour. Compensation potential up to $100,000 annually.
