Golf Course Superintendent

Club Renaissance, Sun City Center, Florida 

Reports To: Director of Operations / Regional Superintendent

Club Renaissance is a semi-private golf facility located on the west coast of Florida. In close proximity to the Bradenton, St. Petersburg, Riverview, Ruskin and Brandon areas. We're seeking an experienced and passionate Golf Course Superintendent to lead our agronomy team.

The Golf Course Superintendent is responsible for all aspects of golf course maintenance and agronomic operations. This individual will lead a dedicated team, manage budget and resources, and ensure the course meets the expectations of our members and guests.

Key Responsibilities

· Oversee all turf maintenance operations including mowing, fertilization, irrigation, and pest control

· Supervise and train maintenance staff, including assistant superintendents and grounds crew

· Develop and implement maintenance schedules for greens, tees, fairways, and roughs

· Maintain and repair irrigation systems and ensure proper water usage

· Manage departmental budget, purchasing, and inventory of materials and equipment

· Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including environmental and pesticide use, and general safety.

· Collaborate and communicate with the club leadership team to plan course improvements and renovations

· Monitor course conditions daily and adjust practices to optimize playability

· Degree or certificate in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, Horticulture, or related field(extensive experience may sometimes substitute for formal education)

· Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Golf Course Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent

- Strong knowledge of warm season turfgrasses (e.g., Bermudagrass, Zoysiagrass)

· Florida Pesticide Applicator License or ability to obtain within 90 days

· Proficiency in irrigation management and golf course equipment

· Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills

· Understanding of environmental stewardship practices and sustainable turf management

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to work outdoors in high heat, humidity, and inclement weather typical of South Florida. Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays.

· Must be able to bend, squat, dig, stand and walk long distances across varying terrain.

· Comfortable working in and around water hazards, lakes and marshy areas.

Educational Requirements
