Equipment/Shop Manager

Gulf Stream Golf Club is seeking a highly skilled and driven Lead Equipment Technician to embrace and elevate the image, presentation, professionalism, and operational excellence of the club’s Equipment Management Operation.

The ideal Lead Equipment Technician will thrive in the club's culture of continual improvement by actively engaging in networking, pursuing ongoing education, and visiting other top-tier facilities. They will also possess a strong understanding of how best-in-class equipment management programs are developed, presented, and operated. 

Club Highlights:

• Equipment: John Deere lease package arriving Oct 2025; also Kubota, Toro, Baroness, Cushman & ClubCar
• Total annual rounds: 17,000
• Total staff: 28 full-time employees
• Typical work schedule:
  • Season (Late Oct – Memorial Day): Mon–Thu 5:30am–?, Fri/Sun half days alternating with Assistant Equipment Manager, Sat full staff 5:30am–noon.
  • Off-season (Memorial Day – Late Oct): Mon–Fri 5:30am–?, weekends only as needed.
• Turf types:
  • Greens: TifEagle Bermuda
  • Tees/Fairways/Surrounds: Celebration Bermuda
  • Some St. Augustine Rough, Paspalum Tees & Surrounds
• Future projects:
  • $250,000 maintenance facility R&M this summer
  • Major facility renovation in 2027
  • Extensive cultural practices, regrassing, course alterations, irrigation & drainage enhancements
  • Coastal water vulnerability & drainage strategy projects
  • Practice facility enhancement, native area development, irrigation replacement (front 9)
• Irrigation system: Toro

INITIAL PRIORITIES OF POSITION:

• Inspect and ensure cutting unit sharpness
• Complete full fleet inspection with prioritized punch list
• Organize and enhance work area
• Develop SOPs for communication, equipment readiness, and R&M with Superintendent and Assistants

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND APTITUDE:

• Manage all aspects of equipment repair and maintenance
• Maintain fleet readiness for daily operations
• Oversee equipment expense tracking and budgeting
• Lead and train Assistant Equipment Technicians
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards
• Collaborate with management on operational planning and capital projects

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5+ years of equipment technician experience 
• CTEM certification highly preferred
• Certificate, Associate, or Bachelor’s degree in related field (preferred, not required)
• Will consider additional experience in lieu of education

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

• Salary: $110,000 – $130,000
• Performance bonus: 10% of base salary (goal-based)
