Golf Course Superintendent

Salisbury Country Club is seeking a motivated and passionate Golf Course Superintendent to join our team and help elevate the golf experience for our members. About the Role 

Reporting directly to the Director of Golf Courses and Grounds, the Golf Course Superintendent will be responsible for leading the day-to-day maintenance and management of our 27-hole golf facility. The Superintendent will work collaboratively with a team of Assistant Superintendents, the Grounds Superintendent, and Equipment Technicians to ensure exceptional course conditions and member satisfaction. 

This is a hands-on leadership role that requires strong agronomic knowledge, attention to detail, and excellent team management skills. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Oversee daily golf course maintenance and operations across 27 holes and practice facilities 

• Plan and execute cultural practices, moisture management, pest control, and course conditioning 

• Manage and develop staff, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluation 

• Assistwith irrigation operation, troubleshooting, and repair 

• Assist in annual budgeting and capital project planning 

• Coordinate with other departments and serve as a professional representative of the grounds team 

• Communicate effectively with members and attend club and departmental meetings

• 27 holes of championship golf with rotating 9-hole loops 

• Bentgrass greens, including newly renovated 007XL/Piranha greens (9 holes + putting green) and L93 on the remaining 18 holes 

• Fairways: 18 holes of Bermuda and 9 holes of Zorro Zoysia 

• Modern irrigation system with a mix of Toro 2-wire and smart satellite upgrades 

• Better Billy Bunkers installed in 2013 

• A master renovation plan in place by architect Bill Bergin to guide future improvements 

• Plans for a maintenance shop renovation 

• Majority of equipment is on a John Deere lease
