Green Valley Country Club is a private, 18-hole championship golf course located in the foothills of Greenville, South Carolina. Designed by renowned architect George Cobb, our course offers classic architecture and scenic beauty in a serene, natural setting. Green Valley is currently undergoing an exciting transformation, with an $8 million clubhouse renovation already underway and future investments planned for the golf course itself.

Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to join our agronomic team. This is an excellent opportunity for a young professional looking to grow in the golf course management industry. The Assistant Superintendent will work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent to execute daily maintenance, manage the crew, and help prepare the golf course for daily play and tournament conditions.

Responsibilities Include:

• Assist in planning and execution of daily maintenance operations

• Supervise and train maintenance staff to ensure high standards and efficiency

• Monitor irrigation and moisture management systems

• Participate in pesticide and fertilizer applications and record-keeping

• Aid in planning for future capital projects and golf course improvements

• Help enforce safety standards and ensure proper use of equipment

Qualifications:

• Degree or certificate in Turfgrass Management or related field preferred

• 1-3 years of golf course maintenance experience (internships count)

• SC pesticide license or ability to obtain within 90 days

• Strong work ethic with a passion for the turf industry

• Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and early mornings as needed

• Ability to lead, motivate, and work as part of a team
