Equipment/Shop Manager
Victoria National is seeking an Equipment Manager to oversee our agronomy facility, equipment, as well as assistant equipment technicians. The chosen candidate will have the opportunity to build their program and staff alongside the Director of Agronomy and Golf Course Superintendent. It is our goal to provide a fun and safe work environment that is conducive to teaching and learning. This position is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and management of all equipment within the agronomy department at Victoria National as well as assisting other departments when needed.
Designed by Tom Fazio, Victoria National has continuously been ranked in multiple top 100 lists since inception and is currently ranked number one in Indiana. We are closed annually from mid-November to April 1st to perform all aerification practices as well as construction updates. Victoria National is a private club with a primarily national membership. We are also part of a network of seven clubs that make up the Dormie Network.

As part of the Agronomy leadership team, the Equipment Manager is responsible for managing the maintenance operation of the golf course and associated grounds under the direction of the Director of Agronomy. Implements Dormie Network company policies and procedures and assists with management of the maintenance staff. Must have the ability to maintain greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and other facilities to excellent standards. Responsible for maintenance equipment and agronomy facility maintenance.
Equipment and Facility:
- 2025 John Deere mower fleet on a 4 year lease cycle.
- Purchased Tx and Pro Gators.
- Purchased Skid steer, Mini Excavator, Pronovost Trailers, 4066 tractors, 5075 tractor, Toro 648’s, Toro 1298, Ventracs and miscellaneous other construction and cultivation equipment.
- Large shop with 2 Lifts, Foley grinders, lift table, hoist, parts room, tool cabinets, stocked tool chest.
- Separate mower and cart bay's.
Primary responsibilities:
- Performs routine maintenance checks to identify repairs necessary for proper operation of the mowing equipment, club cars, small tractors and loaders.
- Completes repairs and routine preventative maintenance in a timely manner.
- Grind or backlap reels as needed.
- Operates small engine equipment, golf carts, small tractors and loaders.
- Trains operators on the proper use of the equipment in a safe manner.
- Opportunity to hire, train and develop assistant equipment technicians.
- Maintains the records associated with the maintenance and repair of the equipment.
- Maintains a clean and safe work area.
- Collaborates with the Director of Facilities when needed.
- Adheres to all Dormie Network’s policies and procedures.
- Must be well mannered, display a smile at all times, greet guests, members, and fellow employees when encountered, show appreciation to the guests and the members, and demonstrate a willingness to help guests and members at all times.
- Perform scheduled routine preventive maintenance on all equipment.
- Check all reel mowers after every use and ensure they are cutting with the desired quality and at the proper height of cut.
- Collaborate with the Director of Facilities when needed.
- Work proactively with the of the agronomy team to minimize equipment downtime.
- Communicate with the Superintendent, Assistants, or Director of Agronomy regarding equipment or shop issues and problems..
- Perform routine checks of equipment while it is in use on the course.

Experience Requirements
- 3-5 years as an Assistant Equipment Technician, Equipment Technician, or Equipment Manager
Special Requirements
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
- Prolonged periods standing and walking.
- Able to walk and maneuver on uneven surface.
- Able to bend, crouch, stretch, push, pull and move as needed to utilize machinery and equipment.
- Must be able to visually inspect machinery, materials and course quality.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to drive local machinery, if licensed.
- Able to communicate with others.
- Able to operate a computer and other office equipment.
- Frequent exposure to elevated noise levels when near or while operating equipment.
