Landscape Manager

Full-time

Key Responsibilities
 
  • Supervise and Manage Teams: Lead and motivate groundskeepers, horticulturists, and maintenance crews, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to high standards. 
  • Plan and Execute Projects: Collaborate with Designers, Regional Managers, General Managers  to plan landscaping projects, oversee installation, and manage ongoing maintenance activities. 
  • Manage Budgets and Resources: Develop and administer budgets for landscaping projects, manage expenses for materials and equipment, and ensure proper allocation of resources. 
  • Ensure Quality and Compliance: Inspect work to ensure quality standards are met, implement safety programs, and stay informed about and adhere to environmental regulations. 
  • Plant Selection and Care: Select plants, trees, and shrubs appropriate for the climate and site, and plan schedules for plant care, pruning, and pest management. 
  • Equipment Maintenance: Manage and maintain landscaping equipment and tools to ensure they are in good working order. 
  • Inter Company Interaction: Address company concerns, provide updates on project progress, and ensure a high level of customer service. 
  • Problem Solving :Identify and resolve unexpected challenges, such as storm damage, plant diseases, or equipment malfunctions.

  • Problem-Solving: Skill in identifying and resolving issues that arise during operations and projects.
  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of landscape design, plant care, irrigation, and equipment involved in the operation. 
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple projects, schedules, and resources effectively. 
  • Knowledge of Regulations: Become familiarity with safety, environmental, and company  regulations.
  • Budget control and forecasting: Ability to create an annual operation budget and manage spend and allocation.
  • Computer knowledge: Basic computer knowledge and willing to learn programs such as Oracle, ACM time clock and Infor. 

Educational Requirements

1) Minimum 2 year diploma in a related field. 

2) Minimum five years as a Landscape Manager or similar position or eight years as an Assistant Manager.

3) Managed a crew of ten or more personal.

 

Experience Requirements

1) Knowledge and usage of tools and equipment related to Landscape management including but not limited to chainsaws, 2 stroke equipment, ride on mowers, tractors, bobcat, power and back-pack sprayers.

2) Knowledge of a basic irrigation system including pump, inline filters, irrigation valves, clocks, rotors, sprayers and how to trouble shoot and repair them. Ability to repair breaks in pipe up o 4'.

3) Knowledge and ability to manage  warm season grasses including Zoysia, Bermuda and St. Augustine. Experience in aeration and verticutting. 

4) Extensive knowledge in Pesticides,  active ingredients and how their mode of action. 

5) Extensive knowledge of pests and diseases of southern plants, palms and grasses.

6) Ability to calibrate liquid and granular application equipment.

1) Ability to pass a medical exam.

2) Ability to obtain a clean police record.
