Assistant Equipment Technician
Grand Harbor Golf and Beach Club is seeking an experienced Golf Course Assistant Mechanic to join our Golf Course maintenance team.
The Assistant Equipment Technician supports the Equipment Manager and golf course maintenance team by assisting with the repair, service, and upkeep of turf equipment, utility vehicles, and small engines. This role is hands-on and essential to keeping our operations running smoothly and efficiently.
PAY BASED ON EXPERIENCE
Essential Duties:
- Assist in the inspection, diagnosis, and repair of golf course maintenance equipment, including mowers, utility carts, tractors, and small engines.
- Overhauls and repairs maintenance vehicles, mowing equipment and other power equipment.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance such as oil changes, blade sharpening, lubrication, and filter replacements
- Maintain accurate service records and communicate equipment status to supervisors.
- Assists in controlling tool access and use by maintenance staff.
- Ensure tools, equipment, and shop areas are kept clean, organized, and safe.
- Adjusts cutting units on mowing equipment.
- May be called upon to operate or train to operate various types of maintenance equipment.
- Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
- Assist with inventory management of parts and supplies.
- Regular and reliable attendance.

Support the Equipment Manager and perform additional tasks as needed.
Educational Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school preferred.
Experience Requirements
- Basic mechanical knowledge of engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
- Experience with small engines or turf equipment repair.
Special Requirements
Physical Demands:
- Frequently stands and walks; uses hands; reaches with hands and arms; stoops, kneels, crouches or crawls. Occasionally sits, climbs or balances. Regularly talks or hears. Regularly lifts up to 10 pounds and occasionally may lift up to100 pounds.
Environment/Noise:
- Occasionally works in wet or humid conditions (non-weather); with toxic or caustic materials; in extreme cold or heat (non-weather); may experience vibration. Regularly works in outdoor weather conditions and may face the risk of electrical shock or encounter fumes or airborne pathogens. Frequently works in areas near moving mechanical parts. Noise level is loud.
Certificates/Licenses:
- Must have a valid Driver’s License
Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences:
- Ability to read and speak English required in order to perform the duties of the job.
- Must be able to work every other weekend.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in outdoor conditions when needed.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
