Turf Equipment Technician
Seminole Golf Club currently has an opening for an Assistant Equipment Manager which reports directly to the Equipment Manager. Located on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean in Juno Beach, Florida, this true seaside golf course was designed in 1929 by legendary architect Donald Ross and is considered his masterpiece. The historic Seminole continues to hold a lofty position among the world’s greatest golf courses with a membership demanding fast and firm and a Golf Course Maintenance team dedicated to providing these conditions in a unique environment.
The Assistant Equipment Manager is an integral part of the management team and primarily provides support to the Equipment Manager in the maintenance and repair of all golf course equipment. The ideal candidate must be coachable and willing to learn the current operational, agronomic, and personnel systems at Seminole, while simultaneously providing input from their own past experiences to make Seminole even better.
Responsibilities:
- Inspects, diagnoses, and repairs mechanical defects and failures in various types of equipment including diesel, gas, and electric.
- Monitors performance of all cutting units and reels across the fleet and completes routine grinding and sharpening as necessary.
- Performs scheduled preventive maintenance on all equipment to ensure daily operations.
- Keeps detailed maintenance records on equipment, inventory, shop supplies, and maintains a clean and safe shop atmosphere.
Educational Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
Experience Requirements
- 1-3 years of experience as golf course equipment technician, trade school, and/or certifications in mechanical or electrical fields are preferred. Pay based on experience.
- Working knowledge of heavy equipment, automotive, small engine, electrical, hydraulic, and pump repair.
- Experience or familiarity with both Toro (cutting units) and John Deere (sprayers) is beneficial as we recently renewed a four-year lease and took delivery of new equipment.
- Must have the ability to lift 75lbs, work in a variety of weather conditions, and stand for long periods of time.
- Valid Driver’s License is required.
