Title: Golf Course Superintendent
Reports to: General Manager/Ownership
Supervises: Golf Course Maintenance Staff
Position Description: The Golf Course Superintendent is responsible for the overall care, conditioning, and maintenance of Stone Creek Golf Course. The successful candidate will be an agronomic professional with a proven track record of success in the Southeast’s challenging climate. Leadership, agronomic expertise, financial acumen, and strong communication skills are essential, as this individual will direct all aspects of course maintenance while developing and motivating a high-performing team.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Course Management: Direct and oversee daily maintenance of greens, tees, fairways, roughs, bunkers, and practice facilities.

Agronomic Planning: Develop and execute turfgrass, irrigation, and pest management programs suited to the South Georgia environment.

Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and inspire a maintenance staff to embrace a culture of pride, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Budget & Resource Management: Prepare, manage, and adhere to an annual operating budget while maintaining top-quality course conditions.

Equipment Oversight: Supervise proper use, care, and scheduling of maintenance equipment; ensure preventive maintenance practices are followed.

Safety & Compliance: Maintain a safe work environment, enforce safety protocols, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.

Communication: Provide clear, proactive communication to ownership, management, and membership regarding course conditions, upcoming projects, and agronomic initiatives.
Educational Requirements
Degree or certificate in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, Horticulture, or a related field preferred.
Experience Requirements
Including, but not limited to, the following:

Minimum of 3–5 years of successful experience as a Superintendent or First Assistant Superintendent.

In-depth knowledge of warm-season turfgrass management, irrigation systems, and pest/disease identification and control.

Strong leadership skills with demonstrated ability to motivate and develop a team.

Financial literacy with experience managing and adhering to budgets.

Excellent organizational, time-management, and communication skills.

Pesticide applicator’s license (Georgia) or ability to obtain within 90 days.
