Equipment/Shop Manager

Golfklúbbur Mosfellsbæjar is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Turf Equipment Manager to join our team. Situated on the outskirts of Reykjavík, our club operates an 18-hole championship course that has hosted national tournaments, as well as a popular 9-hole course. We are proud to serve over 2,500 members and have a substantial waiting list, reflecting our commitment to excellence. With over 80,000 rounds of golf played during our six-month season, the reliability and performance of our equipment are paramount to providing a great experience for our members and guests.

This is a pivotal, hands-on role for a seasoned professional. You will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and management of our entire fleet of turf machinery. The successful candidate will work from a dedicated 1,200 sq ft workshop, which is fully equipped with grinders, a vehicle lift, and excellent communal facilities.

 


Key Responsibilities

  • Preventative & Corrective Maintenance: Execute comprehensive daily checks and routine servicing on all turf equipment.

  • Advanced Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical failures.

  • Team Collaboration: Partner with the Golf Course Superintendent and our team of 5 full-time and 14 seasonal staff to ensure all equipment is operational and reliable.

  • Inventory & Budget Management: Maintain detailed records of all maintenance work and parts inventory, and assist in developing and managing the annual equipment budget.

 


Required Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with a strong work ethic and a proven track record. You must have:

  • A minimum of five years of experience as a turf equipment manager.

  • Demonstrated hands-on experience working on a golf course.

  • Expertise in gas/diesel engines, hydraulic, and electrical systems.

  • Strong technical aptitude, including welding and fabrication skills.

  • Exceptional organizational skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

  • A valid driver's license.

 


Educational Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent is desirable

Experience Requirements

Ninnimum  5 year experience as a turf equipment manager.  

Job Benefits

  • You will receive 30 days of paid vacation annually, compensated sick leave, and the benefit of paid company closure days between Christmas and the New Year.

  • After six months of legal residency in Iceland, you will be automatically covered by the Icelandic Health Insurance system. For the initial six months, the company will provide a private Medical Cost Insurance policy, as required for foreign workers."
